Day 36: Refugio Beach to Carpineria, 36 miles

A landmark accomplishment today: I submitted my first work to the Sun Magazine!  A short essay for their “Readers Write” column, on the topic “Winging It”.  That would be a great title for my memoir.  I think they might choose it, since it included what they look for: unusual story, a bit of pathos, an appreciation for the ironic.  I’ll wait and see.

With that, one of the missions of this tour was accomplished.  Feeling no need to ride further south, I landed in Carpinteria and contemplated my return.  I still want to ride more.  So where?  How much?  I’ll tell you tomorrow.  If tomorrow ever comes, writing again at 3am.  First I’ll have to get to sleep, and the full moon bathing my tent is making that hard.

Sweet dreams, dear readers.
